This was my trip to San Diego in the fall of 2005. It was a weekend trip with a few friends (them, you'll see in the pics, me you won't...except for one!), Brandon, Stephanie, Dan, and Sande. Coincidentally, it was Brandon's b-day that weekend.
The first day we spent at Sea World, most of the time wet (that's what we get for riding Shipwreck Rapids three times in a row, eh?), and a little cold. We desert rats tend to forget an hour in the sun doesn't always dry you out. ^.^ But it was a blast! Although I didn't get as many good pics as I was hoping for. Digital cameras aren't always as easy as they make them out to be. ^.^
The second day we went to the Wild Animal Park. It's actually a reserve and breeding ground in conjunction with the San Diego Zoo. But they turned it into a semi-attraction. I say semi, because it's not at all set up like a zoo. most of the animals you only see because they take you on a long train tour through really large pavilions that actually house more than twenty species (and as herds, not in ones or twos) in one area. (the train didn't make for good picture taking though, so most of these are from walkways and lookouts) They had each habitat set up by country, and the majority of the animals were 'prey' animals. There was a few predators, too, in there own little habitats. On average, this place produces over a thousand babies a year. O.O Likewise, releases about that many animals back into the wild. Overall...it was great fun!
