In the Spring of 2007, my sister and I traveled down to Tucson for the weekend. While I don't have a pic of him, we met up with one of Sarah's friends, Eric, while we were there. But mostly, we went to four places (really good for only a weekend trip!), Kartchner Caverns, Saguaro National Park, Pima Air and Space Museum, and someplace I know was near Madera Canyon to watch the hummingbirds.
Unfortunantly, they don't let you take any pics of Kartchner Caverns, but it was one of the most amazing things I've ever seen. A vast network of caves still preserved in their natural living beauty. There's two tours through two different caves, but one was closed for the yearly bat mating rituals. It also doesn't have as much of the living rock formations they said since it's more exposed to the elements. I want to go back one day and take that tour, too, but wow, it was so cool! Indescribable. Everyone should go at least once in their life!
Saguaro National Park was at the top of my list of must sees for one reason and one reason only. To see the petroglyphs! At the top of one of the driving loops there's a park with a whole bunch of them at the top of the hill. Plus, when you get up there, the view is incredible! I'm not the biggest fan of the desert wildlife, but I think I can say I appreciate it as much as the next person.
